How will Columbia University's changes impact future funding for education?

U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon announced that Columbia University is "on the right track" to regain federal funding after implementing policy changes demanded by the Trump administration. These changes include revising protest and student discipline rules, adopting a new definition of antisemitism, and enhancing "intellectual diversity" within its Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies. Interim President Katrina Armstrong's commitment to ensuring campus safety and addressing antisemitism has been acknowledged by McMahon. Previously, the administration had frozen $400 million in research grants due to concerns over the university's handling of antisemitic incidents.
